July 2013 Favourites. posted at 3:27 PM
I originally planned on doing a video for July 2013 Favoruites, but I've just not been in the mood to film, and my dad's been home so I can't do videos that have me talking in them, and I've got other video plans, so I just decided to do a blog post for this month.
LORAC Pro Palette - I've held off on this palette since it first came out. I didn't want to spend $42 on this palette because the pans were so small and I didn't need more neutral eyeshadows. I eventually got enough money in gift cards, but bought an OCC Lip Tar instead, putting off this palette even more. July is my birthday month so I decided now would be a good time to get it. It was going to be the one item from Sephora I would get for my birthday. I had $20 in gift cards so I only paid a little more than half for this. Despite having new Sugarpill items for this month too, I ended up using this palette more than the Sugarpill products. I did a video using only this palette here. I will eventually be doing a review of this on the blog!
1028 Visual Therapy Hydrating Lip And Eye Makeup Remover - The wonderful Athena gave me this when she went over to Taiwan for vacation for a little while. I love this makeup remover. It gets off everything I want with ease. It's even better than the Rite-Aid brand makeup remover. The only thing I don't like about this is that it's almost gone... and I've only really been using it this month. I have been wearing makeup more often than usual, but I just didn't expect the entire bottle to be almost gone in just a month. Not only do I use this to remove eye makeup, but I've used this to remove OCC lip tars from my mouth and other very pigmented lipsticks like the Milani Colour Statement. This does such a great job with that. Just make sure to wash your mouth with regular water after!
Real Techniques Your Eyes/Enhanced Starter Set Brushes - I've already done a review on this set here so I won't get into it too much in this post. I just love this eye kit. I don't know why I didn't buy it sooner. I can't believe I've been doing my brows without that brow brush. What a shame.
Real Techniques Your Base/Flawless Core Collection - I haven't done a review for this yet, but I plan to. This was the brush set I was planning to get if Ulta didn't have the Duo-Fiber Collection I've been "dying" to get my hands on. I do not know how I've lived without the buffing brush and the contour brush. The buffing brush is my favourite for face makeup and the contour is my absolute favourite brush for highlighting.
Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Nail Colour Pacific Blue - I've been wanting this nail polish since I've seen both Claire and Jenn wear this in videos. At first, I didn't like it when I applied the colour to my nails, but after wearing it for a few days, I really started to like it. I've worn it in some of the videos I've uploaded to my channel. My favourite nail polish brand ever was China Glaze for years, but I've grown tired of the brand since I find their formula is getting worse with every new collection they come out. This Sally Hansen line is dollars cheaper than CG and I don't get chips for a long time. Even application is much smoother to me.
And that's a wrap for my favourites this month. I expect my new Sugarpill products to be in my August favourites.
